There is no denying that Miami is famous for its beaches and its nightlife, but did you know that slowly the city is becoming a mecca for vegan food lovers?

There is definitely a revolution happening in the Magic City and more and more plant-based restaurants are opening up across Miami.

In fact, in 2019, Miami was named the top vegan hot spot in the United States and was dubbed the most vegan-friendly city in America in a study by Hayes & Jarvis.

However, with so many options to choose from it can be hard to decide on a restaurant, especially during Miami Spice, which runs until September 30.

Here are our picks for the best vegan and plant-based restaurants in Miami:

Planta Queen

Planta Queen is Miami's second Planta location — Planta's first U.S. location is in South Beach — and is focused on Asian cuisine.

Some of the favorites on Planta Queen's menu include plant-based noodles, dumplings, and sushi rolls.

Minty Z

Another Asian plant-based restaurant to check out in Miami is Minty Z, with two locations in Midtown and Coconut Grove.

It's guaranteed to become your favorite Dim Sum spot and currently has an 8-course tasting menu starting at $45.

Full Bloom

Established in 2015, Full Bloom was Miami Beach's first vegan restaurant, and its founders — Alessandro Farana, Omar Barberini, and Nicola Dominici — collaborated with chef Mark Reinfeld to create a vegan menu with a "global influence."

Menu items include Southern corn ribs, black fried rice, and lomo saltado made with housemade seitan tips.

Planta

Planta is the perfect combination of a Miami hotspot and plant-based cuisine. Opened in 2018 in partnership with David Grutman, best known for his nightclub Liv, Planta is the perfect restaurant for vegans or those who are curious to try vegan cuisine for the first time.

Vegan Cuban Cuisine

What is a visit to Miami without trying Cuban food? Luckily, there is a plant-based alternative thanks to Vegan Cuban Cuisine, located in Kendall.

The restaurant serves all your Cuban favorites including a Cuban sandwich, picadillo, and arroz imperial — just with meat and dairy alternatives.

La Cocinita Miami

If you are looking for a plant-based burger, look no further than La Cocinita, located in Brickell. The menu has a variety of burger options including Sassy Burger, Yummy Burger, and the signature Cocinita Burger.

There are also plenty of bowls, soups, and apps to choose from.

Love Life Cafe

As it says on its website, Love Life Cafe is all about "plant-based, clean, and delicious" food. The Wynwood cafe serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is open every day from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
